Blue Care are currently inviting applications for the newly created role of Senior Manual Handling Coach as part of the Manual Handling Program to improve organisational safety.

 

This unique opportunity provides you the chance to be involved in the organisations strategy, driving a new initiative across the business whilst being strongly supported by WHS to achieve this roll out.

 

Your role:
A diverse and challenging opportunity, you will implement the organisational Manual Handling (MH) program within your respective cluster, ensuring consistency throughout the services, and leading the management of manual handling support within your region.  

 

Together with the WHS Manual Handling Team, you will drive this primary injury prevention program through the delivery of manual handling training and competency assessments to staff, mentor and facilitate the manual handling coach network whilst supporting investigations and risk assessments to effectively manage current and potential manual handling risks.

 

As a business-wide initiative, your role will require a degree of travel within your delegated cluster.

Your skills & experience:
With a background in Nursing or Allied Health, you will have a robust understanding of the clinical risks, impacts and importance of manual handling, with a passion for seeing sound, preventative measures implemented across your group.

 

A strong collaborator, you’re keen to engage those around you in order to see the success of your ideas and initiatives. With excellent interpersonal skills, you can confidently engage a workforce from all walks of life, cultures and backgrounds on the importance of safety practices, adapting to your audience accordingly.

You’ll demonstrate:

  • Clinical background with knowledge and skill in manual handling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Enthusiasm, knowledge and skill for ergonomics, manual handling principles and practice
  • Experience in WHS risk management, particularly the risk assessment process or willingness to learn.
  • Current valid Qld Driver’s license.
