Position Summary

We have an amazing opportunity for an energetic, passionate and highly capable Assistant Service Manager to join the team at our Cape York Family Centre. Our Centre runs of a ground breaking model that focuses on supporting the healing and transformation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in a residential bush setting located 25 minutes outside of Cooktown.

This role is for an initial fixed 12 month period. The unique Family Therapy model is strongly supported with University aligned professional development program and International Family Therapy expertise. The ground breaking model is demonstrating outstanding outcomes in the first 18 months of operations; this position presents a unique opportunity to be a part of a meaningful close the gap initiative whilst being based in the gorgeous scenic location of Cooktown.

Your role will assist in the overseeing of the day to day operations to ensure the delivery of quality family centred services. You will assist in the management of human, financial and material resources as well as plan, coordinate and evaluate the delivery and standard of the service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in highly complex situations.  Playing a key leadership and supportive role you will be a dedicated professional with proven experience leading a multidisciplinary team and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

You will ideally have extensive experience in high level service delivery and/or management, in addition you will have advanced leadership skills and a tertiary qualification in a related health field and proven ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  Supplementing the above your positive attitude; ability to think innovatively; respond to complex situations and strong people management and development skills will make you a great fit for the role.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Do you have tertiary qualification in relevant health field?
Desirable: Do you have experience in managing a team working in a complex environment?
