We’re seeking an experienced Service Manager to enable the continued success of our Ny-Ku Byun Elders Village in Cherbourg.


The history of Cherbourg weaves a tapestry of clans and tribes from all over Queensland and further afield. The local council motto, Many Tribes, One Community, is seen every day at Ny-Ku Byun Elders Village – with an extended family tree of dedicated employees, respected Elders and welcomes visitors from all walks of life!

 

Delivering residential aged care, respite services, a Commonwealth Home Support program as well as dementia and palliative care, Ny-Ku Byun’s services are as diverse as the community it’s a part of.

 

You’ll work with your frontline team to provide outstanding care to elders, promoting a culture of personal, values-based care. Through your knowledge, you’ll promote a high standard of quality and compliance, ensuring your facility meets all regulatory requirements through best practice clinical care and audit activities.

 

You’ll lead a team of clinicians, personal carers, hospitality officers and support staff, ensuring their ongoing performance by providing support and direction to enable their success. You’ll oversee property maintenance and ensure strong financial management by maximising ACFI funding and drive community engagement to support occupancy.

 

Your skills & experience:
With a solid background in aged or Indigenous care, your leadership skills have seen you grow and develop similar services with a focus on quality, person-centred care. Your mentorship and coaching of teams has resulted in strong service performance, with sound quality outcomes and care governance. You’re confident tackling complex and conflicting priorities throughout your day, pooling your resources to meet deadlines.

 

You'll present with:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a qualified clinician OR extensive leadership experience within Residential Aged Care
  • Experience with SQF Framework and Aged Care Funding Models
  • Strong community engagement and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid leadership capability with experience leading similar size services
  • Relevant tertiary, graduate or post graduate qualifications in relevant field

Selection Criteria Desirable: Do you have desirable knowledge of quality standards applied to a residential care setting and experience in same?
Desirable: Do you have experience with Residential Aged Care in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander setting?
Desirable: Do you have experience in managing a residential aged care facility in a remote or isolated setting?
