Position Summary
  • Permanent full-time opportunity

  • $22.82 per hour (FTE $45,092) + 9.5% Super + NFP Salary Packaging

We’re seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Gardener to join our team in Bundaberg!

 

You’ll ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the lawns, gardens and grounds and undertake minor property works including: 

  • Propagating, planting and pruning of the facility grounds
  • Installing plant support and protection devices
  • Constructing gravel and paved areas, walls and fences
  • Manage lawn care and irrigation systems
  • Responding to feedback and requests for support to improve the environment 

What you’ll need: 

  • Solid experience in gardening/landscape/grounds maintenance
  • Good knowledge of herbicides, pesticides and safe work practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sound WHS practices
  • First Aid/CPR Certificates or willingness to obtain
  • Current Australian Open driver’s license
  • Evidence of an up-to-date Influenza vaccination in accordance with the current Public Health Directive for Aged Care Facilities.

Selection Criteria Essential: If you are successful for this role, you may be required to undergo a series of pre-employment checks; that may include your Right to Work in Australia, Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a Health Screening Questionnaire. Do you consent to this?
Essential: Do you hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or the willingness to obtain?
Essential: Do you hold a current Australian Drivers Licence?
Essential: Are you confident in your ablity to use a ride-on or zero turn mower?
Desirable: Do you have beginner to intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook?
Essential: Do you have sound knowledge and understanding of the use and application of herbicides and pesticides and the relevant safety guidelines and work practices?
Essential: Can you safely and effectively utilise and maintain plant and equipment associated with the delivery of gardens and grounds services?
Desirable: Do you have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks?
Desirable: Do you have the ability to work autonomously, supervise others and/or work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, showing attention to detail and technical competence?
Desirable: Do you have effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including intermediate computer skills?
Desirable: How many years of experience do you have working in this particular or an equivalent role?
