Remuneration Value: $30.81 - $39.12 per hour (FTE=$60,880 - $77,301) + 9.5% Super + Salary Packaging


Blue Care is seeking applications from experienced and passionate Registered Nurses to join our Caloundra Community Care team and provide acute care to our clients residing in their homes.  We have permanent and casual opportunities available so would suit Registered Nurses with acute care experience looking for casual flexibility or Registered Nurses looking for permanent contract job security.


Your role:

The current vacancies are a part of a new acute nursing team initiative which see us partner with local hospital(s) to support early patient discharge. As a Registered Nurse providing acute care, you’ll provide person-centred acute care to our clients within their homes in the community. The acute care service will be offered 7 days a week primarily between 7:00am and 8:00pm and rostering will be organised on a rotational basis within the team. The position will also have an after-hours on-call support requirement.

You’ll ensure a safe environment and apply best clinical practice to enhance and maintain the quality of our clients lifestyle, including their physical, social and emotional needs.

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Clinical assessments, monitoring and updating care plans
  • IV therapy, cannulation, PICC, CVAD maintenance and complex wound care
  • Continence management, medication management & titration, palliative care & chronic disease management

You’ll work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, supporting one another to deliver outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvements centred on client’s health and wellness within their home. With no two days ever the same, you’ll spend the majority of your day on the road, completing your scheduled community visits, interacting one on one with clients and their loved ones!

Your skills and experience:

You’ll be an experienced nurse who is driven to make a change in the lives of our elderly clients through enabling their independence and well-being. You’ll be confident working autonomously within a community care based setting and demonstrate:

 

  • Current unconditional (Division 1) nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Recent experience delivering acute nursing care services
  • An ability to apply mobile information technology devices in the delivery of care
  • Basic life support certification and a current driver’s license
  • Evidence of vaccination (or proof of non-susceptibility) to vaccine preventable diseases

Selection Criteria Desirable: Do you have >2yrs experience implementing nursing care in acute services? Please describe:
Desirable: Can you demonstrate (or are you prepared to attain) vaccination or proof on non-susceptibility to vaccine preventable diseases including: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis and Hepatitis B?
Desirable: Are you currently competent at administering technical nursing procedures such as cannulation, IV therapy, topical negative pressure dressings and anticoagulation therapy?
Desirable: Please provide your current AHPRA (Div 1) registration number:
Desirable: Do you have current competency in basic life support / CPR and First aid?
Desirable: Please describe your availability for shift work (days of the week and preferred total hours)
