Blue Care is seeking skilled Clinical Nurses, passionate about supporting acute hospital patients to receive safe and effective nursing care at home. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative care pathway that will be partnering Blue Care and UnitingCare hospitals. Positions will be based from our Caloundra service centre, working with local hospitals and outreaching into patients homes. Services are delivered 7 days a week, primarily between 7:00am and 8:00pm, with after hours on-call support rotated across the team. These will be full-time, part-time and casual positions for an initial engagement term of 12 months.

 

These positions will provide leadership in the delivery of continuous care for patients that would otherwise be required to remain in hospital. They will provide hands on care to patients, undertaking assessment, implementation, monitoring and review of in-home care. Highly developed assessment and communication skills, an understanding of community based care delivery, and experience supervising / mentoring nursing staff would make you a strong candidate for this team.

 

So you can succeed in this role, you will present with:

  • Current unconditional nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Extensive general nursing experience including a minimum of 2 years practice in acute nursing services
  • Current competency in administering acute technical nursing procedures such as cannulation, IV therapy, PICC and CVAD management, topical negative pressure dressings and anticoagulation therapy
  • Current driver’s Licence, and basic life support training
  • Evidence of vaccination (or proof of non-susceptibility) to vaccine preventable diseases
  • Flexibility to support care delivery over a 7 day roster as required.
