Based in Toowoomba, we’re seeking a Spiritual and Pastoral Care Practitioner to support our clients and resident across South West Queensland.

 

You’ll work closely alongside our Chaplaincy team to support the delivery of pastoral and spiritual care to the people we serve, staff, families and caregivers. As part of a new program delivering support into the community, you’ll visit clients across your region, completing spiritual needs assessments as required under the Aged Care standards and holding pastoral care conversations.  

 

You’ll have completed, or be willing to undertake,  Pastoral and Spiritual Care study at a minimum Certificate IV level from a recognised training institution, with membership or a commitment to working within the ethos, theology and values of the Uniting Church. You will be confident in working effectively within an ecumenical, multi-faith, multi-disciplinary framework with sensitivity to the diversity of staff, clients and their families.

 

You will present with: 

  • Broad experience with an applied understanding of spiritual and pastoral care
  • Knowledge of special issues and requirements associated with care of the aged, in particular palliative care
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to hold effective conversations with people from all backgrounds and walks of life
  • Confidence with technology/ Current Driver’s License
  • Working with children check (or willingness to obtain)
