Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in the Community Pivot which will transform our community business to become a market leader in community care.    

 

The Community Pivot and the FY22-24 program of work form part of Horizon 2 of our 2030 strategy.   This next phase of our journey will see an exciting program that further harnesses capabilities from across our organisation. 

 

The program brings together a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team working across Aged Care & Community Services, Hospitals, Digital & Technology, and People & Culture to develop a program of work that will drive positive change, champion innovation and sustainably create better outcomes for our clients.  

 

About the role

 

The Product Lead will support the development and implementation, of the new product compliments in areas targeting Dementia Care, Palliative Care and Hospital in the Home as part of the future suite of Specialised Services, Community.  Under the direction of the GM Specialised Services this role will focus on creating and testing the design and delivery of an adaptive service offering that our customers want; with a focus on at-home models of care and an integrated service offering across UnitingCare.    

 

The role will act as the product owner in an agile test and learn environment, driving the squads and product roadmaps and positioning the new services ready for scale up and implementation across the broader Community business. The role will need to understand and drive the financial performance of the new offering and work to the community pivot targets.

 

Key aspects of the role include: 

  • Analyse opportunities and recommendations on product development strategies.
  • Identify needs on the project team (i.e. agile squad) and defines roles of each team member, ensuring an appropriate level of support
  • Develop and define partnership arrangements as related to specific proposals.
  • Works in an agile delivery model presenting at showcases, hands on development of content and preparation and presentation at other key governance forums as required.
  • Identify new partners, subcontractors, and/or stakeholders to enhance Blue Care Communities’ capabilities and expand our programming.
  • Stay abreast of funding priorities and opportunities for fee for service.
  • Support other members of the Community Pivot team and ensures that cross-team capability is leveraged  
  • Communicate regularly with program and field staff as well as other departments on ongoing and planned product development efforts, specific support needs and field staff capacity building requirements

What do you need


The successful candidate will hold the following require skills:

  • Broad understanding of principals of product development, including sub-fields such as dementia and health and/or other services.
  • Familiarity with current legislation and regulations and knowledge of a range of funding models.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment. Proven willingness to make timely and sound decisions making use of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage deadlines, to manage others and to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural, geographically dispersed team environment.
  • Able to work abroad in sometimes difficult and challenging environments.
  • Proficiency in MS powerpoint and excel and a willingness to learn and utilise agile tools such as JIRA and MIRO boards.
